Prof. Dr. Ana Filipa Palmeirim

Conservation ecologist and Assistant Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her research focuses on understanding how biodiversity responds to habitat loss and fragmentation in the tropics. Working across the Amazon, West and Central Africa, and Southeast Asia, she combines field-based studies with quantitative approaches to investigate the drivers of species persistence and community structure. Her work integrates ecological theory with applied conservation, with a particular interest in landscape ecology, island systems, and community-managed forests. She is also engaged in interdisciplinary research linking biodiversity change to human well-being within a One Health framework.
